This is my line. I’ve walked it so many dang times I’m getting dizzy. The part that really mixes me up is the part that comes at the beginning, that curved bend on the left that looks like a turkey’s red hangy thing—the reason being that I gotta speed up coming out of a spin at that point, and loop around the top part, you could call it the head, and shoosh down, turning right, and then go into a bumpity hop hop hop hopping with a SUDDEN STOP.

My line reminds me of:

A turkey (I said this before).

A man’s privates (golly, this is my notebook and I’m not sure I want Arlin or Miss E to see it—not to mention Mama! She thinks men’s privates are dirty and ugly and who would want to see a man naked as a jaybird except someone sick). She says Michelangelo was sick and so are most artists. They got a fever can’t be cured by anything, not even drugs. Miss E’s an artist, but she’s not sick. Miss M, well, she’s a little funny, but not what you’d call SICK. More like WEIRD. Oh, I don’t know, maybe only certain artists are sick, like Michelangelo and people from the past.

Miss E said to keep writing down what you think, but I don’t know. When you’re working with a line you’re not supposed to let your thoughts stop even if they are stupid ’cause you never know when you might see a flash of light going off in your head. Inspiration it’s called. “Perspiration is more like it,” Arlin says in his snotty way. I keep getting confused and I start thinking about real people and real life and then I start wondering about this and that and about what they think about so and so and what so and so says and like Arlin says, “I’m just responding to stimuli.”
